The 2018 Jersey Cup

On May 19, 2018, twenty nine combatants from all over the Northeast gathered at Mother's Ale House on a rainy day in Wayne, NJ to see who could win the first ever Jersey Cup. There was a nice mix of new players and Tecmo vets, and pool play was chock full of excitement. Not even a street wide power outage could stop the Nintendo power that was happening inside Mother's. Brian Rausse, founder of NYC Tecmo tournament, went on to win his first tournament in over 10 years after a nail biter of a game with runner up, Shawn Suchy (stalltalk). Other highlights of the day were the raffles, which included a signed Joe Montana Tecmo framed print, a Wayne Haddix framed print, and other Tecmo related goodies, and an excellent livestream orchestrated by Ray Bordier of NFTGL Tecmo !!! league.
